Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimes reports that Samsung Electronics, Apple Inc. and HTC are the top-three dogs in handset sales in Taiwan’s market for the month of February.

Accounting for a combined market share of about 60%, the trio have been competing “neck and neck” since the launch of Apple’s iPhone 4S in Taiwan. The handset had officially debuted in October, but arrived in Taiwan later, in mid-December.

According to data compiled by local retail channels, “Apple was the number one vendor in February with a 30% share,” in terms of sales value.

Samsung was not far behind either. Its market share was also close to 30%. And HTC took the third spot with a respectable 23.5% share of its own.
