Apple is actively seeking a “Buzz Marketing Manager” who will be responsible with creating exposure of the company’s brand and iconic logo within television programs and movies. The job also involves initiatives related to the iTunes and Apple Retail stores.

According to the company’s new job posting, “This new Buzz Marketing role is primarily responsible for constant and compelling exposure of Apple products with high-profile users, especially those in film and television. The position also supports key iTunes and Apple Retail initiatives. The position reports to the head of worldwide Buzz Marketing and keeps aligned with PR, Marketing, Apple Retail and iTunes.”

Undoubtedly, this person will be answering not only to Tim Cook but also to the newly-hired Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s new senior vice president of Retail and Online Stores who comes from British fashion house Burberry.

The Buzz Marketing Manager will have the core responsibility to create product placement in film television, with the job description stating, “Work with the creative side of film & TV to place Apple products. This includes getting necessary approvals, managing and trafficking product inventory, following up with studios, and monitoring media for successful placements.”

The new recruit will be required to build relationships with high-profile influencers, which includes everyone from directors, actors, and artists to athletes, designers and select brands. If a particular relationship has the potential to maximize benefit for Apple, taking action in that direction is highly encouraged.

“Leverage relationships to book events at Apple Store Soho,” reads one of the more particular core duties. “Collaborate with Apple Retail, PR and iTunes to ensure maximum positive outcome for the effort. Produce a podcast for each event into iTunes and maximize the promotional value of the content through PR efforts and partner channels.”

“The position works primarily with outside partners but also cross-functionally with PR, iTunes, Product Marketing, Marcom, and Apple Retail,” reads another one. “Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure they are produced on strategy, on time and within budget.”

Requiring a BA/BS or equivalent qualification, Apple’s ideal applicant needs to have at least seven years of experience in the entertainment industry and to possess “proven understanding of the inner workings of TV and film.”

“Each year, Buzz manages hundreds of external partner relationships, placements, events and influencers so the candidate must be fast, opportunistic and adaptable,” Apple adds. Strong written and verbal communication skills are must-have traits. Visit the company’s jobs site for the full scoop.
