Several reports have emerged stating that Apple Inc. has been in talks to stream EPIX content to its puck-sized set-top box and iDevices.

Backed by three major movie studios (Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and Lionsgate), EPIX would run on the Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, as well as the upcoming (yet unconfirmed) Apple television product.

This information reportedly came from two people with knowledge of the negotiations who said Apple was likely to unveil a full-fledged HD TV later this year or in early 2013.

It has long been debated that Apple’s greatest problem in taking over the living room is content distribution - mainly to get the major cable networks to sign deals with the Cupertino giant.
