Really now, who needs any special introduction of the iTunes phenomenon? There's no way anybody could have missed the success iTunes had when it was only providing music, but now we'll have to keep an eye on the video market as well.
Apple gambled as they launched the video download service, first because of the higher price users had to pay and second because there was no real indication there really was a market
for videos.
However, results after less than a month from the video iTunes launch date prove that this service has a huge growth potential as it managed already to distribute over one million videos. The catalog first included only 2,000 videos, but that didn't stop users from downloading as many as a million in 19 days. If there's anyone doubting that video download is the thing, or at least one of the things of the future...please raise your hand.
According to Apple's statements, what they plan to do next is broaden the content offerings, so that customers can enjoy watching more videos on their computers and new iPods.
