Adds support for iTunes 9 and Apple TV 3.0

The Apple-developed Remote application for iPhone and iPod touch has been updated to version 1.3.2, adding support for Apple TV 3.0, while fixing compatibility with the latest version of iTunes. Remote lets users control music playback and volume, build and update Genius playlists, edit iTunes playlists, and more, and can control both iTunes and Apple TV, as well as Front Row on a Mac. Remote is a free application for iPhone and iPod touch.

APPLICATION DESCRIPTION

With Remote you can control the music on your computer or Apple TV from your iPod touch or iPhone.

Play, pause, skip, shuffle. See your songs, playlists, and album art on your iPod touch or iPhone as if you were right in front of your computer.

Remote works with your Wi-Fi network, so you can control playback from anywhere in and around your home.

As noted above, Apple also updated iTunes to version 9.0.2 and its Apple TV software, to version 3.0. Both updates deliver numerous enhancements, as well as compatibility with one another. iTunes users, for instance, will not only enjoy support for Apple TV software version 3.0, but also an improved look and feel, including a new Column Browser for easily browsing their artists or albums, movies, TV shows, and more.

For Apple TV 3.0, the most noteworthy additions include iTunes Extras, which provide “stunning full screen additional content for select movies, including deleted scenes, interviews, and interactive galleries,” and iTunes LP, for “stunning full screen additional content for select music albums, including live performance videos, lyrics, artwork, liner notes, interviews, photos, and more.”
