Banners work for apps like Mail, Notes, and Reminders

iCloud now displays notifications in a similar way to iOS, allowing logged-in customers to immediately read an incoming message by clicking the banner.

Notification Center in iOS features a banner system which enables users to instantly access any incoming emails by tapping the upper side of the screen, whether on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

The same degree of handiness has been implemented in the web interface of iCloud, Apple’s free web-based suite of services, which includes Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, Find My iPhone, and iWork apps.

Mail now displays banners at the top of the window whenever a new message has arrived. The user can either click the notification to instantly get to the email, or leave it there for a few seconds until it disappears. The unread messages continue to be marked by a badge in the Mail app’s icon.

The same notification banners apply to Notes and Reminders.
