Apple has recently announced the introduction of a new MobileMe Mail web application. In May, the company asked customers to try out the beta and provide feedback. For those who signed up to check out the new service, Apple has posted a knowledge base article where all the known and resolved issues are detailed.

“This article tracks significant known issues in the MobileMe Mail Beta,” Apple states on the Support section of its website. “The article will be updated as issues are resolved. This article is intended for participants in the beta only. For more information, see the MobileMe Mail Beta FAQ,” the company says, and proceeds with listing the known issues with the MobileMe Mail Beta as of June 2, 2010. Reproduced below, the issues span the lack of multiple language support, the inability to attach large files to a message, unresponsive mail rules, and even some graphical glitches.

“- The MobileMe Mail Beta on the web is available in English only. - To navigate to other parts of the MobileMe website, click the cloud icon in the upper-right corner, which will take you to MobileMe Calendar. From there, you can switch to any other MobileMe web app on me.com. You can also access a part of the MobileMe service by typing in the URL directly. See Accessing MobileMe Applications for more information. - When attaching files larger than the maximum (20 MB), the alert message that appears may be generic. - Subfolders cannot be moved to the top level. - The color picker may not reflect the color that has been chosen when composing a message. - Some message previews will not appear until you select the message. - Mail rules created may not immediately take effect; you may have to wait up to 15 minutes before they are applied to new incoming messages. - When replying to a message, pressing the Return key may move your cursor into the body of the original email.

As far as resolved issues go, Apple claims that rules can now be created based on a partial email address, while the first message in a user’s inbox is no longer selected and marked as read. The unread-message count, and the First Name/Last Name display order from MobileMe Contacts in MobileMe Mail are now accurate.

Improved reliability when attaching files, and a resolved issue in which arrow keys could not be used to select an address when composing a message are just two more fixes. Other improvements have been done with the ability to display HTML email messages, reliability of push for new messages, and reliability of the Get Mail button.
