iDisk, the MobileMe service allowing customers to sync and share their files directly from their mobile device, has been updated to add support for the iPad’s big screen. In addition to this noteworthy enhancement, the iOS iDisk app also receives multitasking support for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, an option to open iDisk documents in compatible apps such as iBooks, and more, thanks to software update version 1.2.

“With MobileMe iDisk, you can view and share the files on your iDisk right from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch,” Apple explains. “[…] Sign in with your MobileMe username and password and you'll see a list of the folders and files on your iDisk. Select a file to view it on your iPhone. To share a file with someone else, just tap the share icon, choose your recipients, and MobileMe iDisk will send them an email with a link to download your file directly from MobileMe. You can assign a password to keep your files secure and even limit the number of days the download will be available – all right from your iPad or iPhone.”

In usual manner, the iTunes description continues with a number of key features, which include the ability to view various types of files (including iWork, Microsoft Office, PDFs, QuickTime movies, and JPEGs), the ability to share files and to quickly access recently viewed documents, as well as access to public folders. A complete list of v. 1.2 enhancements is then offered as follows:
