Via the News and Announcements section of its iPhone Dev Center, Apple is informing developers that an updated developer forum has been set in place. The platform now includes features to enhance browsing speed, as well as a new rating system for locating relevant posts more easily. Only those enrolled in Apple’s iPhone Developer Program ($99 a year) can access this resource.

Reproduced below is the Mac maker's original post from the iPhone Dev Center.

By following the link provided by Apple, visitors of the site learn that, “The Apple Developer Forums provide an environment to discuss the technical aspects of developing applications for iPhone OS and Mac OS X. iPhone and Mac Developer Program members can access the Apple Developer Forums by logging in using the Apple ID and password associated with their Apple Developer Program.”

For the second part of our story, Softpedia can confirm (via an AppleInsider report) that Apple has started approving iPad applications. Developers are reportedly naming their apps as “HD” or “XL” versions, to better distinguish their aim. The news source cites a report by PadGadget as claiming that, “Some iPad applications have already been approved by Apple and are listed in the Web-based iTunes Preview list of App Store software.” According to the report in question, “Developers have chosen to label their iPad applications as ‘HD’ or ‘XL’ versions to distinguish them from their iPhone and iPod touch counterparts.”
