Apple has released Compressor version 4.0.7, an update to Compressor, the professional-grade exporting tool for users of Final Cut Pro. According to the Mac makers, “The update is recommended for all users of Compressor 4.”

Compressor version 4.0.7 is mainly a bug-fix release which “improves overall stability, performance, and compatibility,” according to Apple.

The update patches a stability issue when playing back certain MPEG-2 files, and addresses another stability bug with Qmaster, “when processing multiple jobs,” says the changelog.

Compressor 4.0.7 also eliminates the 1 GB cap for Vimeo uploads. The file size can now exceed 1GB, though Apple fails to mention what the new limit is.

Like Motion, Compressor is a standalone Mac App Store download for Final Cut Pro users. Grab the updated version at the link below.
