Those who install Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard on their Mac automatically get software supporting the printers currently used by the computer (if available), nearby printers on their network, as well as drivers for popular printer and scanner models.

By clicking the Customize button while installing Snow Leopard, users can choose to install software only for printers currently used by their system, or choose to install all of the printer and scanner software that is available from the Mac OS X Install DVD.

However, as time passed (since the launch of Snow Leopard), new drivers became available for Mac users.

To get software for printers that were not installed during the Mac OS X installation process, customers can choose Software Update from the Apple menu and, if software for their printer is listed as available, they will see a prompt asking if they would like to download and install the software.

Alternately, users can visit Apple’s Downloads website to manually download the newest drivers, or use the links provided by Softpedia (above) with each driver release.
