Apple Updates Bevy of Apps Just to Add iOS 6 Support

The release of iOS 6 has prompted Apple Inc. to release updates for a flurry of applications, mainly to support the new mobile OS powering iPhones and iPads worldwide.

Apple’s iWork apps, Keynote and Numbers, have both received updates to support the new iOS 6, as well as to add the ability to open their own file formats in external applications.

The Remote application, used for controlling iTunes and Apple TV, also supports the new software now.

iTunes U, Apple’s educational app for iPhone and iPad, not only works on the new iOS, but also adds a new single-day view for students to see all of their posts and assignments due on a particular day. The update also addresses an issue where Closed Captioning was prevented from appearing when available.

iBooks 2.2 and iAd Gallery 1.2 are also out to support the operating system that iPhone 5 ships with, as is Find My Friends 2.0, which also includes Friend Suggestions and Favorites now.
