Apple's keynote at WWDC 2015 took place earlier today and we witnessed a lot of awesome new stuff, especially about the new features that will be implemented in the upcoming major versions of OS X, iOS, and Watch OS operating systems.

The first thing that was introduced today at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 event is OS X 10.11, which will be dubbed "El Capitan." The new version will be available to developers starting today, June 8, 2015, and a Public Beta is coming in July to everyone.

El Capitan brings great new features and lots of under-the-hood improvements. It is more powerful than ever and comes with some smarter new ways to do the things you love and do most. It offers a more refined experience and faster performance. There are enhancements to Safari, Spotlight, Mail, and Spaces Bar.

For example, you will be able to pin tabs and immediately see which tabs make noise so you can close them in order to concentrate on your work. OS X 10.11 also brings new gestures for Mac users, allowing them to more easily do quick actions like deleting emails in the Mail app.

The Spotlight has been enhanced, and it will allow you to search for even more places than ever, providing you with useful search results, such as sports scores and weather information. The Mail app now features an enhanced full-screen mode and supports tabbed email composing.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan has Split View functionality

Best of all, OS X 10.11 adds a new Split View functionality that will automatically position two applications side by side using all pixels of your Mac's screen, so you can be even more productive. Moreover, the Space Bar now makes it easier to create multiple desktops.

Another interesting feature that will land in OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" is Metal, Apple's OpenGL API that provides the power needed for your Mac to play all the latest and awesome games, delivering faster performance, great details, new levels of realism, and richer onscreen graphics.
