Apple will be unveiling its 17-inch MacBook Pro at the National Association of Broadcasters conference next week, AppleInsider reports.
The larger than life portable is expected to debut at speeds faster than the current MacBook Pros, and pack additional storage. Other than being large because it is built around a 17-inch TFT widescreen display, it will be very similar in look and feel to the current offerings.
The
recently rumored to be arriving MacBooks, however, will not be making their much anticipated entrance. According to AppleInsider, they have been "pushed back to next month," for reasons unknown.
It seems, according to AppleInsider sources, that Apple will be using its large presence at NAB to highlight Final Cut Studio 5.1 running natively on the New Intel-based hardware. Also, the company is expected to make several announcements about its line of Pro software packages, including Final Cut Studio 6.0 sneak peaks. The general consensus is that Final Cut Pro 6.0 and Motion 3.0 will be expanded to support several new high-definition video formats, while Soundtrack Pro is expected to package support for editing additional high-end audio formats, such as 5.1 channel surround sound.
The National Association of Broadcasters conference is set to kick-off at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Saturday the 22nd and run through Thursday the 27th. The Exhibition hall will not open until Monday the 24th.
