The new iBook replacement MacBooks are expected any day now, tomorrow to be precise according to several
Apple rumor sites who initially indicated last Tuesday as being the day they were announced and then moving it to this Tuesday.
In addition to the MacBooks, there has been talk of new iPods, and colors have been mentioned more than once in the MacBook related reports.
Tony Smith adds two and two together for The Register, and adds in the special edition the red iPod that was rumored to be coming out some time ago.
The red iPod began being talked about after Bono was reportedly overheard discussing it at dinner in a restaurant, and is supposedly part of the Product Red charity movement, a scheme that calls on famous brands to offer red versions of their products in order to publicize the African AIDS crisis.
Tomorrow, the day that Apple is expected to release new products, Bono will be guest-editing a major UK newspaper the Independent, which is going red to mark the occasion.
If Apple was ever to come out with a red iPod, or even a red MacBook, this would be the ideal time for it as the timing of the two events would generate the most press coverage.
