For several weeks now, developers have been mingling around the code inside iOS 4.1 beta builds to find references to upcoming Apple hardware, with the latest findings indicating that Apple has at least one all-new product to announce.

First off, AppleInsider suggests, a fourth-generation iPod touch is almost certainly launching at Apple’s rumored event in September.

The device, which may boast dual cameras, FaceTime support, the Apple-branded A4 chip and a Retina Display, is allegedly referenced as "iPod 4,1."

Should history be any indication (prior revisions to the iPod touch) this identifier should be the first iteration of a fourth-generation iPod touch.

For reference, the source outlines that the first three generations of Apple’s portable player were identified as "iPod 1,1," "iPod 2,1" and "iPod 3,1," respectively.

Next up, a new iPad is seemingly also being tested by Apple.

Seemingly corroborating recent rumors of a 7-inch iPad 2, AppleInsider points out that the second unreleased product referenced in the USB configuration files is "iProd 2,1."

The site notes that this device represents “a material update” to Apple’s tablet computer. This was concluded based on how the original iPad was listed in configuration files - "iProd 1,1" - prior to its debut.

However, the most interesting finding was the discovery of a mysterious device listed only as "unknownHardware."

The textual descriptor for this unknown product is similarly listed as "Unknown- Add device descriptor info for this device," yet the configuration files tag this device with a unique Apple product ID - 20547.

It is believed that this listing refers to Apple’s yet unannounced Apple TV.

Believed to be dubbed iTV, the device is said to deliver an all-new experience, by syncing content via a cloud-based iTunes.

Additional benefits allegedly include App Store support, with the device purportedly running a variant of the iPhone operating system, according to several reports.
