The famous Apple TV now includes support for the popular online video sharing service YouTube, as the parent company Apple released a software update today. The improved version is available for free for all the owners of the device and can be accessed through the software update feature included in the Apple TV. Then, all you need to do is to login to your YouTube account and start viewing clips.

"iPhone delivers the best YouTube mobile experience by far," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "Now users can enjoy YouTube wherever they are-on their iPhone, on their Mac or on a widescreen TV in their living room with Apple TV."

In addition, the Cupertino company reminded us that June 29 is the big day that brings the iPhone, the long awaited handheld device that will also offer YouTube support. "A new Apple-designed application on iPhone will wirelessly stream YouTube's content to iPhone over Wi-Fi or EDGE networks and play it on iPhone's stunning 3.5 inch display."

YouTube is surely the most popular online video sharing service on the Internet because it was massively improved since the Google acquisition in October 2006. As you've probably heard, the Mountain View company paid $1.65 billion for the video service, planning to make it even better than before. However, YouTube caused a lot of problems for the parent company as numerous firms sued Google for copyright infringement because it uploaded videos without authorization.

The latest and the best known lawsuit was filed by Viacom, the owner of MTV and Comedy Central which also demanded the removal of 100.000 clips from the page. Although Google agreed to remove the videos, Viacom still sued the search giant do uploading videos without authorization and required $1 billion in damages. Meanwhile, YouTube was improved and it is now an important part of the latest Apple products that are real market hits.
