AppleTV was one of the most awaited products developed by Apple that allows you to view movies, shows and videos on a high-definition TV. The device was finally released last week on Tuesday and remained in the spotlights as more and more publications wrote reviews about it. As you surely know, AppleTV has a 40GB hard disk with an operating system already installed by the company, so it is technically easy to steal the application. What can you do with the operating system installed on the device? Well, you can have the same functions provided by the AppleTV right on your Mac or even on your PC.

Imagine that Apple added some security tools, but it seems that the operating system was hacked and it is now available for download. What does this mean for the company? One thing is obvious: you are no longer required to buy an AppleTV as your computer can offer the same functions as the device provided by the company.

It seems like the application is currently distributed as a disk image but the users interested in running the operating system must work a little to configure it and make it bootable.

We all know that AppleTV's operating system is a basic Mac OSX but it seems like the application is basically 10.4.7 with numerous functions removed but with other minor improvements. Although the download links are currently removed from numerous websites on the Internet, the hackers sustain the disk image is currently available on several torrent sites or via other programs.

So, AppleTV's operating system was hacked after only one week since its official release date, numerous users sustaining they don't want to buy the device as their Mac is now able to run the same functions as the Apple's tool. What can Apple do? Fight to reduce piracy; but it seems like this is useless because all the companies must create powerful security systems before the official release on the market.
