Users must have a second-generation set-top box (or newer models)

World Wrestling Entertainment Network, a privately controlled entertainment company that deals primarily with professional wrestling, is getting its own channel on the Apple TV.

The confirmation was apparently made on Facebook (the post has since been removed), where a wrestling fan asked, “will we be able to AirPlay from iOS devices to Apple TV? Will it BE on the Apple TV directly?”

To which the WWE Network replied, “In order to experience WWE Network on an Apple TV, you must have a second generation or later (black) Apple TV and be a WWE Network subscriber. Once WWE Network is available, you will be able to launch the WWE Netowrk app directly from your Apple TV. Let us know if you have further questions! Thank you.”

Pressing the network to provide a definitive launch date, WWE said the app would be available on February 24.

So there you have it. Yet another channel coming to the Apple TV’s home screen, yet another blow to cable operators who don’t want to share their business with Apple.
