iWorld-focused website iLounge has posted a gallery of photos on Flickr showing off the changes delivered by Apple with its new software update for Apple TV owners. Mostly focusing on UI changes, the gallery also includes imagery showing Genius, HD YouTube playback, Internet radio, iPhone/iPod touch Remote control, and even new fonts.

As you may have already heard, Apple has recently introduced Apple TV 3.0 software, featuring a redesigned main menu that makes navigating your favorite content simpler and faster. The new UI also makes enjoying the largest selection of on-demand content even better on your TV. According to Apple, you can now enjoy iTunes Extras and iTunes LP in stunning fullscreen with your Apple TV, as well as listen to Genius Mixes and Internet radio through your home system. Available immediately as a free download for set-top-box owners, the new Apple TV 3.0 software update is recommended for every owner of the device. Those who don’t have an Apple TV but plan on getting one should also know that a 160GB model is currently available for $229.

“The new software for Apple TV features a simpler and faster interface that gives you instant access to your favorite content,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services, said. “HD movies and HD TV shows from iTunes have been a huge hit with Apple TV customers, and with Apple TV 3.0 they get great new features including iTunes Extras, Genius Mixes and Internet radio.”
