Apple has confirmed to retail staffers at a flagship London store that their October 4 event (featuring Tim Cook with plans to 'talk iPhone') will be streamed live to the huge plasma screens on the store’s walls.
The Covent Garden Apple Store in London is known to be the most expensive store project Apple completed to this date.
The building is a historic one. It required restoration before Apple could place a single piece of electronic equipment inside it, and it cost more than $35 million to set up.
Cultofmac now
confirms that store employees have been informed of Apple’s intentions to stream the event to a crowd of reporters that are to be allowed in store at 6:00 PM, London time, on the day of the big event. This is a first for Apple.
The store will be closed to customers at 3:30 time (5 hours and a half earlier than normal).
