It looks like Apple Stores are better places to buy iPhones than AT&T stores. A recent press release from Apple mentions that not only will Apple's Retail Stores be open until midnight, giving you more time to get one, but they willalso have a double limit, two iPhones per customer.

Apple's iPhone will go on sale this Friday, June 29 at 6:00pm local time at Apple retail stores nationwide. All 164 Apple retail stores in the US will stay open until midnight and customers can purchase up to two iPhones on a first come, first served basis. Beginning Saturday morning, iPhone customers can learn how to get the most out of the iPhone with free, in-depth workshops offered throughout the day at all Apple retail stores. Every Apple retail store will offer support for iPhone at the Genius Bar and personal training through Apple's new One to One program.

"Apple retail stores were created for this moment -- to let customers touch and experience a revolutionary new product," said Ron Johnson, Apple's senior vice president of Retail. "With our legendary Genius Bar support, free workshops and our One to One personal training, we're here to help customers get the most from their new iPhone."

It looks like Apple has more iPhones per Apple Store than AT&T does per AT&T store, however, considering that Apple only has 164 stores, the bulk is still going to AT&T for selling. This makes sense as while Apple undoubtedly has a better customer experience in their stores, potential customers are much more likely to have an AT&T store nearby than an Apple one. No doubt that beginning next week, the Geniuses are going to be a lot more busy with all the iPhone people coming in, either for the free workshops or the One on One personal training.
