ifoAppleStore, the website that deals with news and information about Apple Inc's retail stores, is reporting that "teams from Apple's contractor are now arriving to quickly build a partial retail store set inside a sound stage for filming an unknown movie." These events have caught the attention of motion picture studio watchers in southern California, which is why you're hearing this today.

The construction, according to the aforementioned source, will be carried out by Shawmut Design and Construction at the Burbank Studios. While Apple only had to approve the construction, "the film production company is footing the bill," say studio insiders.

Most fans should know by now exactly how futuristic and clean Apple's retail stores look. While the Cupertino-based electronics maker is very finical about each and every one of them, some Apple retail stores, as the company itself has shown, benefited from more attention than the rest. It is the case of the Apple Retail Store situated on Boylston Street, Boston. The grand opening took place this week and, as it has been revealed, it's quite the place to be. No wonder they want to shoot movies inside them.

ifoAppleStore notes that Apple's brick-and mortar... um, glass and steel stores have become an icon representing "technology, cutting-edge architecture and the social scene," making them the perfect setting for a movie today, be it just for a few scenes shot inside one of them. The source wasn't able to obtain further information about the new movie, or its release schedule.

Apple's Retail Stores are designed by San Francisco-based design firm Eight Inc. Many of them feature a theater for presentations and workshops, the Studio for training with Apple products. All of them offer a Genius Bar for technical support and repairs, and free workshops.
