Cupertino takes store offline only to bring it back up with no changes, it seems

On Sunday, Apple temporarily took down its online store for maintenance, a move that is generally well received by fans of the fruity company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California.

It’s not often that Apple takes its store offline to carry out maintenance, but when it does, everyone gets excited. The reason is simple – new products, new prices, even new customer web tools and imagery. Anything new from Apple is a reason to rejoice for any fan.

This weekend, however, hasn’t been so productive. Apple quietly dimmed the lights, then switched them back on, with no indication whatsoever that anything had changed.

Everything seems to be in place as it was before, including the prices. Don’t be fooled by the presence of Apple’s third-generation iPad in the refurbs area. It’s been there for a while now and doesn’t have anything to do with Sunday’s outage. But the question remains: why did Apple take it down?

Has anyone here spotted anything new on Apple’s store so far?
