The Online Apple Store is down, unsurprisingly, as Apple is gearing up to start sales of its highly anticipated iPhone 5s. The handset sells for $199/€199 with a two-year wireless contract, and can be purchased unlocked for a higher price.

iPhone 5s is Apple’s flagship new iPhone which sports a neat fingerprint sensor underneath its Home button, and comes with upgraded electronics, including a new chip, a better camera with a True Tone flash, new colors, and even new leather cases which complement the phone’s elegant design.

Apple is putting the phone on sale today at 8:00 a.m. local time at Apple retail stores in 10 countries, and at 12:01 a.m. PDT at the Apple Online Store (store.apple.com) in the U.S.

The iPhone 5s will be accompanied by the iPhone 5c (which has been available for pre-order since September 10) at the official launch in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the UK.

Update: the store is back online featuring nothing but iPhone ads on the front page, including the ability to buy your very own iPhone 5s online.
