Store.apple.com goes down ahead of potential Spring refresh

Apple today took down its online store internationally, in what may be a preparation of the venue for the spring holidays, including some Easter offers for European and US customers.

The Cupertino giant usually takes its web stores offline whenever there’s something new to be unveiled, but also to update its virtual shelves with smaller promotions, as was the case with its Valentine’s Day offers – Apple updated its store two weeks in advance to include some romantic cheer.

If history is any indication, the company should be updating its online store with some spring offers.

It’s not completely impossible for the Cupertino giant to actually introduce a new product as well. Several are in the works, including an Apple television with gaming capabilities, according to rumors. However, Apple usually holds events for such major unveilings. If there is any new product launch/upgrade scheduled for today, it will probably be just a new version of an existing Mac, AirPort base station, etc.

Notably, store.apple.com is down internationally, meaning that, whatever changes have been scheduled, everyone will partake.

Check with your Apple web store from time to time at store.apple.com (slash, your country’s initials, such as US, UK, etc), and we’ll be sure to let you know what’s new the minute Apple makes a move.

Update: the Apple online store is back and nothing seems changed. Drop us a comment if you notice something different.

Update #2: As a tipster points out, Apple has given the accessories section its own tab in the store listings (highlighted in the picture below).
