iPad mini with Retina display expected to make online debut

Having made all its big announcements for the year, Apple is left with filling store shelves with its unreleased new products, including a powerful Mac Pro and a new generation of iPad minis with crisp displays.

Apple has already confirmed that the Mac Pro won’t be arriving any sooner than December, so with the Apple Online Store down for maintenance at the moment, we can only expect the latter to make its debut.

Retina displays have been hard to come by, not because the technology is new, but because most of Apple’s products that come with a built-in screen are now Retina-grade.

The company’s suppliers have been having a hard time churning out these massive amounts of Retina displays in all shapes and sizes, delaying Apple’s plans to introduce some products, including the second-generation iPad mini.

I’ll let you guys know when the Apple store goes back up.

Update: Apple's store is back online featuring the new iPad mini with Retina display. Availability is decent: 1-3 days for the models most people will go after, 5-10 days for the higher-end versions.
