One of the most recent subjects picked up by ifoAppleStore, the source dealing exclusively with Apple’s retail initiatives and trends, is cleaning at the Apple retail store. Apparently, the job is a highly specialized one, especially when it comes to grand openings. The Mac maker actually has an expert company hired to do the job in The States.

“Although the Apple stores are endowed with award-winning architecture, the stores’ wood, glass, stone and stainless steel present special challenges when it comes time for cleaning—an obsession when a store holds its grand opening. Anyone who has attended a store opening has noticed the extent to which Apple will make sure there are no fingerprints, smudges or other marks on any visible surface, no matter where it’s located,” the introduction of ifo’s report reads.

“Among the crews employed by Apple to keep its stores looking perfect is Stuart Dean Co., a 77 year-old, family-owned company headquartered in New York City that specializes in building restoration and maintenance services,” the report adds. However, the Stuart Dean site reveals it’s actually a 75-year-old business.

“Stuart Dean provides a comprehensive suite of building restoration and maintenance services,” the company’s 'about-us' reads. “A pioneer in the industry, Stuart Dean is a family-owned business with over 75 years of unparalleled expertise and experience. From historic landmarks to new construction, Stuart Dean provides critical services that extend the life, increase the value and enhance the beauty of architectural assets. Stuart Dean is proud to add sustainable green solutions to their list of services using a break-through UV-PCO 3rd generation TIO2 technology that cleans with light.”

Back to the ifo report, Stuart Dean is said to have 600 employees scattered across the US. Its clients include museums, hotels, office buildings, universities, churches and government buildings, according to the site. “For Apple, the company works on the stainless steel, using special materials and techniques to keep it clean, shiny and unblemished. Stuart Dean employees are frequently on-site before a grand opening to make sure the steel is in perfect condition,” ifo reveals.
