As rumored, Apple has released an updated version of its shopping application for iOS customers adding performance enhancements and new features to improve product search.

Last week a rumor broke out that Apple was set to overhaul its Store app to add a quick redesign and downloadable content. The update doesn’t exactly reflect what the rumor said, but there’s a good chance part of the changes will occur server-wide.

According to the release notes dished out by Apple, Apple Store 2.7.1 delivers “various performance enhancements, including improved product search capabilities.”

The Cupertino mammoth has been pushing for more iPhone discoverability as of late, and that includes free apps and iTunes gift cards, as well as new incentives for customers to come to the Apple store and trade in their old device for a new one.
