Apple will be holding a special event at this year's National Association of Broadcasters on Sunday, April 15. Apple has used this occasion in previous years to release various significant products.

The Cupertino-based company chose NAB 2005 to launch Final Cut Studio and Soundtrack Pro. Motion was launched in Las Vegas with the use of a similar event. The company has made no statement regarding the launch of a product at this year's NAB, but Final Cut Pro 6 is expected to be released on this occasion.

The general belief is that Apple will not release any new hardware before the launch of Leopard, but we might be in for a surprise. However, it is most likely that we will only see the new Final Cut Pro and perhaps new versions of the Pro media software at the NAB this spring.

News also says Apple will be using a much larger booth at the National Association of Broadcasters this year. They usually take the first booth in the South Hall, but they've moved the location this year.

The launch of Final Cut Pro 6, if it were to occur at NAB 2007, as expected, would be one year behind schedule. The product was expected at last year's NAB, but Apple hasn't managed to release it so far. Rumors spoke about Leopard technologies (such as Core Animation) being used in the new version of Final Cut Pro, the large delay would have given developers time to work extensively on the product's set of features.

NAB 2007 will take place between the 14th and 19th of April in Las Vegas and will bring together over 1,400 exhibiting companies and more than 105,000 attendees from 130 countries.
