Apple is shutting down iTunes Connect for the winter holidays, between December 22-29, according to an email sent out to developers this week. Those doing business Apple’s App Store are being told not to schedule any changes during this interval.

The Cupertino, California computer giant is telling developers that “iTunes Connect will be temporarily shut down from Thursday, December 22 to Thursday, December 29 for the winter holidays.” iTunes Connect is a platform developed and maintained by Apple with the purpose of providing third-party software developers with a way to submit and update their iOS applications on the Apple App Store.

According to the letter, the following services will be unavailable during this shutdown:

- Access to iTunes Connect - The delivery of any apps or updates - Additionally, the following will be delayed: - Releases scheduled to appear on the App Store for the first time - Pricing changes scheduled through the interval pricing system in iTunes Connect

The email continues with Apple advising developers not to schedule any changes as they will not occur. In fact, sales may take a hit if you do, says Apple:

“We strongly recommend that you do not schedule pricing changes through the interval pricing system in iTunes Connect that would take effect from December 22 through December 29. Pricing changes scheduled to take effect during this date range will not be reflected in the App Store and the app will become unavailable for purchase.”

Needless to point out, new binary submissions will also be held off during this timeframe. However, stubborn devs who do this anyway will see their apps approved when the shutdown comes to an end:

“We also recommend that you do not schedule any apps to go live during the shutdown. Releases scheduled with a sales start date between these dates will not go live until after the shutdown.”

Apple ends its email with the usual regards and a signature that says “The App Store team.”
