In usual Apple manner, the Cupertino-based company includes a small description of its slate-shaped device, saying it is specifically tailored for tasks like browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying and sharing photos, watching HD videos, listening to music, playing games, reading ebooks, and more.

Apple doesn’t forget to mention the iPad’s Multi-Touch user interface, the tablet’s physical dimensions - 0.5 inches thick, weighs 1.5 pounds - and that it boasts a powerful battery, which holds up to 10 hours on a single charge.

In related news, Best Buy is expanding availability of Apple’s iPad as well, with both the WiFi and 3G versions becoming available to all of its US stores later this month.

The retailer claimed in a report issued earlier this week that “Best Buy is a preferred channel partner for the Apple iPad, now selling the popular device online (for in-store pick-up) and through Apple Shop locations within 673 Best Buy stores.”

Apple, for its part, is expanding actual production of the tablet device, by reportedly tapping a new touch-panel supplier to produce an additional 1 million iPad screens per month.
