Apple has confirmed to an American publication that its Grand Central retail store will be opening to the masses ‘soon’. No word on the exact grand opening date, but it’s rumored for December 9, according to the Gothamist.

Contacted with queries on the estimated opening of the store, Apple’s public relations people only sent the above photo - which reads: "Apple Store. Grand Central. Arriving Soon." In typical Apple manner, the launch date will most likely be announced only a few days ahead.

The upcoming store, located in one of the most heavily populated areas on the planet - the Grand Central terminal in New York - will occupy no less than 23,000 square feet.

By this account, it will be the largest in the world, eclipsing even the flagship Fifh Ave. Store in Manhattan and the Shanghai Apple Store, best known for their iconic glass cube / cylinder entrances.
