Apple has finally confirmed rumors about a second event planned for fall of 2013, sending out invitations to the media for a new showcase scheduled for October 22 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California.

The press invitations state, “We still have a lot to cover.” The tagline undoubtedly refers to a new iPad refresh, the planned release of OS X Mavericks, and perhaps some upgrades on the desktop front as well.

The invitation artwork is predominated by colorful apple leaves flying off from behind the company’s iconic logo.

What is almost a certainty is that Apple will unveil the next-generation iPad 5 and a revised iPad mini with a Retina display. Both tablets are said to get the ultra-fast A7 chip (with 64-bit architecture).
