Apple is facing a PR crisis in China over warranty concerns, and the company has sent its Senior Vice President of operations, Jeff Williams, to deal with the debacle.

After getting hit with criticism by Chinese media outlets, Apple CEO Tim Cook issued an apologetic letter to the Chinese customer base, stating that the company is aware “that a lack of communication led to the perception that Apple’s attitude was arrogant and that we do not care and attach importance to consumer feedback.”

The letter did well to restore China’s faith in Apple, but Jeff Williams is reportedly on site to tend to the matter personally.

As Apple’s supply chain manager, Williams ensures products meet the highest standards of quality. He also manages the company’s production process, and oversees Apple’s relationship with Foxconn, and other high-end suppliers in the Far East.
