EA itself denies such claims, cites “unfortunate misunderstanding”

Apple and Electronic Arts are both refuting a Giant Bomb report citing EA as saying that Apple had paid "a truckload of money" to make Plants vs. Zombies 2 exclusive to iOS.

The gaming site had quoted Frank Gibeau, head of EA Labels, as saying, “Apple gave us a truckload of money to delay the Android version [of Plants vs. Zombies 2].”

Apple caught wind of the report and later provided a statement to the site saying that Gibeau's statement was “not true.” Then EA contacted CVG to say, “A comment from an internal meeting taken out of context has created an unfortunate misunderstanding.”

EA clarifies that “Reports of a paid relationship between Apple and EA are factually inaccurate, and we apologize for any confusion.”

Apple is known to favor hot-shot developers, and even if that statement is indeed true, neither company would be dumb enough to say that it is.
