Apple is opening another five retail stores in China by February 19, according to a statement by the company’s Senior Vice President of Retail operations, and former Burberry CEO, Angela Ahrendts.

Speaking to Chinese website Xinhua on Thursday, Ahrendts revealed that Apple has plans to open as many as five new retail locations in China by February 19, when the country celebrates the New Year with a Spring Festival. In other words, expect five new Apple Retail stores to bust open their doors in just as many weeks.

In time for the Chinese New Year

“We are opening five new stores before the Chinese New Year this year. Four of the stores are in brand new cities for us,” Ahrendts told the site in a telephone interview.

According to the report, in the past two years Apple has increased its service staff by 75 percent in the country, and currently has 3,700 retail employees on payroll in Greater China. Ahrendts added that, “China is a huge and important market for every global company today.”

Apple currently operates hundreds of retail stores worldwide, with most of the venues located in the United States. The company’s iconic glass-laden stores adorn their surroundings. A select few stores have even received awards for their ingenious shape, materials, lighting, etc.
