The spreadsheet app in Apple’s iWork productivity suite, Numbers, just got a brief update from its parents in Cupertino, California.

If you skim through the Numbers reviews up on iTunes, chances are you’ll find just as many positive reviews as negative ones. Some of them pick on perfectly good working features, while others are accusing Apple of delivering a buggy app.

For the latter group, Apple has prepared an update which contains “stability improvements and bug fixes.”

Compatibility is set at iOS 5.1 with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and all iPad models from the second-generation and up.

Apple is said to be making its iWork suite free of charge soon, so if you’re not terribly dependent on purchasing the $9.99 / €8.99 software, wait and see what happens after the September 10 iPhone refresh.
