Apple Retail Store Opening in South Carolina

- South Carolina has totally lacked an Apple Store up until this point

By: Filip Truta, Apple News Editor

Apple is already hiring for the new store set to open its doors in the downtown area of South Carolina, while the permit application, for King Street, has already been submitted. South Carolina, totally lacking an Apple Store up until this point, is finally getting the Apple Store it deserves.

The news comes via a local news source in Charleston,
South Carolina, as TUAW reveals. The job listing indeed shows that the new Apple store will be located at 301 King Street, downtown area.

In other news, but still regarding Apple and its stores, Aspyr Media has recently gone public announcing that US Apple stores will be hosting tournaments in light of the recently released Mac version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Competitors are eligible to win iTunes gift cards.

Inside Mac Games revealed at the time of the announcement that each day would host a tournament which competitors can sign up for and participate at one of the Apple retail stores. There are more prizes to be won aside iTunes gift cards. Check with participating Apple stores for more details.

More Apple Store news you say? Well, there is one recent story going on about an Apple Store that's had its "le" removed and that's the App Store, soon to be appearing as an icon on your 2.0 iPhone screen. Steve Jobs has confirmed its upcoming availability at the iPhone Software Roadmap event in Cupertino, saying that developers will be able to reach every iPhone user out there through it.

Apple's CEO claims that developers will make their apps available free of charge, as they want to get them in the hands of as many iPhone users as possible. Within the App Store, users will have a featured section, categories (whether you want to find a game or a business application), such as business, education, entertainment, finance, games, health and fitness, lifestyle and music, and even categories inside categories. Top downloads and the most popular apps that are being downloaded will not miss, of course.
