In a Support document published this week, Apple reveals that its previously-banned “push email” service is now available again in Germany.

Apple and Motorola are still battling it out in court over this issue, but after paying a hefty, multi-million-dollar fee, Apple has been allowed to restore push email to iDevices in Germany.

According to Apple’s KB article TS4208, “Customers in Germany can now receive push email delivery for iCloud, Yahoo!, AOL, QQ, and NetEase.”

To enable push delivery, users must go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars; tap Fetch New Data; and switch the Push slider to On.

If mail still doesn’t get “pushed” to your iOS device after following these steps, Apple says you’ll need to delete and then re-add your account to the iPhone or iPad you’re using it on. This doesn’t delete your emails because your messages are stored on external servers.
