Twitter will be a part of iOS 5 according to multiple sources allegedly familiar with Apple’s plans. The service would be, as they say, ‘baked-in’ iOS 5, with options to upload imagery.

According to a report by TechCrunch, these sources have actually confirmed that Twitter has signed a deal with Apple to integrate its newly confirmed, upcoming photo sharing service into iOS 5.

Apple’s new mobile operating system will come with an option to share images to Twitter  in a manner similar to that of uploading to YouTube.

As iPhone owners should well know, Apple has its own dedicated YouTube application built inside iOS.

The sources specifically told the tech blog that there would be a “Send to Twitter” option for pictures stored on a user’s device, while the user would have to enable this feature by logging in with their Twitter credentials in iOS.

It is also known that Twitter is rushing to get its picture service out as soon as possible, mainly because Apple has this particular announcement to make at WWDC 2011, TechCrunch speculates.

The unveiling of iOS 5 at Apple’s June 6 WWDC keynote is no longer a myth with the company confirming the update in a special report that hit the wires yesterday.

It is unclear what the main enhancements in the new iOS are, but there is a good chance it will have a deep integration with iCloud, another major announcement scheduled for Monday morning.

iCloud is either going to complement or (more likely) replace MobileMe with a revamped suite of Internet services that together form a locker room with a box for every Apple ID holder on the planet.

Also at WWDC 2011, Apple will unveil Mac OS X Lion in its final shipping form. There may also be an iPhone announcement at the event, but this is pure speculation at this point.
