The Nest Learning Thermostat co-developed by former Apple employee Tony Fadell is reportedly being taken off the shelves in Apple retail outlets. The reasons are unknown, but the Mac maker continues to sell the product through its online store.

Attempting to buy a Nest Learning Thermostat from your local Apple retail store may result in you walking out empty-handed, one recent rumor goes. Retail staff has reportedly been instructed to pull the item, while other employees simply told customers that they were out of stock. Apple’s online store also shows unavailability for in-store pickup, if you order one online.

We reached out to Nest for clarification on the matter. In the meantime, you can visit the company’s official web site here for a closer look at this ingenious product.
