As part of a big cleanup, Yahoo! this week has given Apple the green light to remove one of its iOS applications, as the company is no longer supporting it.

Yahoo! confirms in a blog post that “As of April 30, 2013, Yahoo! Deals will be going away.” Apple swiftly removed the app from its iOS App Store following the announcement.

The web services company is just as saddened by the move as its customers are, and maintains that the decision was made so that it can focus its energy and resources “on building beautiful products for you,” including the new Mail and Weather apps.

People who still have Yahoo! Deals installed on their iPhones and iPads can still save their coupons prior to the Yahoo! Deals shutdown. Yahoo! offers some instructions here.

While the app is no longer available for download, the service will continue to work until the end of the month.

“Here at Yahoo!, we are focused on making the world’s daily habits inspiring and entertaining. More than ever, that means focusing on our core products and experiences. To that end, effective April 30, 2013, Yahoo! Deals will be shut down,” Yahoo! outlines.

“After April 30th, 2013, your saved coupons will no longer be available on Yahoo! Deals. To save your coupon information you will need to copy and save it to a text file on your computer before April 30th, 2013,” the company adds.

To save you the trip to the official Yahoo! support site, the instruction set has been reproduced below.

2. On the right of the page under “Recently saved coupons,” click See all saved coupons. -A list of your saved online coupons is displayed.
