After releasing OS X 10.7.3 to the public last week, Apple started receiving a lot of negative feedback from customers who had installed the delta update on their computers only to be greeted by a “CUI” error message and applications failing to launch.

The issue has not been addressed yet, though Apple should be working on a fix as you are reading these lines.

Instead, the company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, decided to remove the OS X 10.7.3 delta update altogether.

The Mac maker's Downloads page now offers the Combo installer for both Client and Server customers. The Combo update is free from the bugs that are causing the CUI error, according to those who’ve installed the update.

According to Apple, “The 10.7.3 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac including fixes that:

- Add Catalan, Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian language support - Address issues when using smart cards to log into OS X - Resolve issues authenticating with directory services - Address compatibility issues with Windows file sharing”

The 10.7.3 update also includes a new version of Apple’s standard web browser. Safari 5.1.3 isn’t yet available as a standalone download, and doesn’t have any specific release notes to accompany it. And the security side of OS X 10.7.3 is detailed here.

For now, users who have already applied OS X 10.7.3 delta on their systems will need to navigate to Apple’s downloads page (or this link here on Softpedia) to manually grab the Combo update.

“You can manually download the update installer. This is a useful option when you need to update multiple computers but only want to download the update once,” the company explains. “These versions of the standalone installers are available from Apple Support Downloads.”
