As a result of widespread coverage on a ‘Jailbreak’ app that somehow made its way in the iTunes App Store, Apple swiftly removed developer RiliSoft’s binary.

RiliSoft’s “Jailbreak” application was not an actual hack tool, but a game whose description was so misleading you could actually be tricked into paying for the download hoping it had Apple’s blessing to ‘jailbreak’ your device.

Luckily for those unwary customers who would have plucked the 10 bucks, Apple promptly removed the deceiving binary from the iTunes App Store after BlogsDNA, Musclenerd and our own site issued a warning to iOS customers worldwide.

iPhone Dev Team member Musclenerd now confirms via Twitter that the app is no longer available for download.

It still remains a mystery how an application called “Jailbreak” made it through Apple’s net with a description that clearly resembled the advertising campaigns of nefarious jailbreak & unlock tools (many of which are scams, if I may add).
