Apple has posted iPhoto 9.2.1, an update to the company’s consumer-oriented photography software bundled in the iLife ‘11 suite of media applications.

Updated earlier this month to add compatibility with iCloud and iOS 5, iPhoto 9.2.1 now addresses an issue that could cause the application to quit unexpectedly on Macs with the 3ivxVideoCodec plug-in installed.

For those who haven’t yet updated to iPhoto 9.2, the latest update also delivers the ability to use left and right swipe gestures to navigate between photos in Magnify (1-up) view, the option to select book/calendar themes and card categories using a pop-up menu in the carousel view, as well as several fixes. For example, rebuilding a library now correctly preserves saved slideshows and books.
