Apple is encouraging developers to leverage the new resources for using iCloud Storage APIs (application programming interface) in their applications for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, as well as Macintosh.

A memo on the News and Announcements section for developers entitled "New Resources for Using iCloud Storage" encourages programmers worldwide to “Take advantage of new resources for using iCloud Storage APIs in your iOS and OS X apps.”

One of those resources is the new iCloud Design Guide, which “provides an in-depth look at iCloud Storage APIs, how they work, which ones are best for your apps, and best practices for implementation,” Apple explains.

The Mac maker has also put forth the iCloud Web Tools, a free set of debugging tools for iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion apps. The developer software allows programmers to view the content their app has stored in the cloud.
