In tandem with the release of iOS 7.1 Beta 2, Apple this weekend rolled out Xcode 5.1 Developer Preview 2, a new test build of the company’s software development kit (SDK) for iOS and OS X.

Described as “a pre-release version of the complete Xcode developer toolset for Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad,” Xcode 5.1 Developer Preview 2 is labeled on Apple’s Dev Center as Build 5B71f, and includes SDKs for iOS 7.1 Beta 2 and OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).

Testers are told to review the seed notes before installing Xcode 5.1 Developer Preview 2. Although it supports Mavericks, Xcode 5.1 also works on Macintosh computers with OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) installed.

According to a person who’s seen the release notes for Xcode 5.1 Developer Preview 2, Apple mentions just as many fixes as there are bugs to address. Apple program members can download Xcode 5.1 DP2 by signing in at the Dev Center with their Apple Developer credentials.
