Apple this week has released a new version of its digital toolset for developing Mac and iOS apps, Xcode 4.6.2. The update delivers bug fixes and improvements.

Xcode 4.6.2 is a maintenance update which, according to Apple, improves LLDB performance for debugging Objective-C code.

An issue where the crash log database could grow very large has been addressed, and the update also deals a blow to other minor bugs to deliver “stability improvements.”

Xcode can be used to code applications for OS X and iOS, Apple’s desktop and mobile operating systems. Every developer is required to enroll with Apple to submit an IP to the App Store before selling authorized applications for its platforms.

Xcode is a free download for everyone and requires at least OS X version 10.7.4 (Lion).
