New versions of Apple Remote Desktop are available for Macintosh users, starting with Snow Leopard and ending with Mavericks.

Apple Remote Desktop lets a network administrator manage Mac computers, distribute software, provide online help to end users, create detailed software and hardware reports, etc.

The Apple Remote Desktop 3.7 Client Shell will “install the Remote Desktop Client application on a machine that has requested the download through the Software Update tag,” according to Apple’s documentation. This update is geared towards OS X 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), and 10.9 (Mavericks).

Apple Remote Desktop 3.5.4 Client, targeting OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and OS X 10.7 (Lion), “is recommended for all Apple Remote Desktop clients and addresses issues related to overall reliability, usability and compatibility.”
